The "English Community" sim is a virtual learning environment in Second Life for Aijia Cambridge English Training Center, an English training Institution in China.

Design:
Numerous 3-D virtual learning spaces were created on this virtual campus, many suitable for team activities and group learning. Scripts were used to implement a series of dynamic effects of learning aids as well as voice-enabled functions.

Construction:
To facilitate effective teaching and learning, the virtual campus consists of an activity center, restaurants, cafes, lecture halls, post offices as well as a supermarket with a clothing section, a community section, a toys & stationery section, and a general commodity section. This learning space can meet the need of different teaching styles and subject contents. Bright colors and unique styles are combined to promote a vivid, lively atmosphere that appeals to learners.

Landscape:
Exotic buildings and futuristic structures serve as the main attractions on this virtual campus. A large area of water surrounds the virtual supermarket, impresses visitors with fresh colors, open views, and unique shopping experience.
