China Mobile strives to improve customer service and innovate in providing individualized services. To deliver high quality service for users, China Mobile decides to leverage 3D virtual technologies to create a new business front. This is part of China Mobile’s vision of a future society of ubiquitous communication and information services.

Design:
The virtual China Mobile storefront consists of the China Mobile “Communication 100 Service Hall” and a large retail space. The design of China Mobile’s Communication 100 Service Hall was modeled after real-world Communication 100 Service Halls and reflected China Mobile’s emphasis on product design and customer service. It adopted the color of blue, the China Mobile corporate color, as its basic tone. Well placed displays also highlighted China Mobile’s partnership with 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Open spaces with good lighting helped enhance China Mobile online users’ immersive experiences in-world.

Construction:
During the construction, single color blocks and abstract lines were used to compose the structure in a modern style. The goal was to create a harmonious environment consistent with China Mobile’s service-first corporate culture as well as its ambitious commercial spirit.

Function:
A special user interface element was Miss Mobile, a focal point for interactions with users. Miss Mobile can show a series of specialized poises if users press any of the action buttons on the user interface. Users can get detailed information by pointing to any product samples in-world, which will lead to video links, web pages, or other demonstration materials.
